Ruins – Demo 1220
About the game
This is a short follow-up demonstration of several new features of Ruins. This is not a complete game -- it is just a sampling of new elements that have been added to the game engine and new mechanics which are still experimental.
For the technically interested, this demo includes the following additions or changes from the previous Ludum Dare 16 version of Ruins:
- Updates to flixel 1.47
- Post-process lighting effects
- Moving doors / floors / walls / bridges
- Pushable blocks
- Levers and push-block triggers
- Simple bat AI (because everybody loves bats)
- Spirit mode and spirit mode visual effects
- Patch of Life creation and interaction
- Spike hazards
How to play
Use the arrow keys to move. Press up to jump
Press 'C' to swing your machete.
Press 'X' to interactive with objects (keep an eye out for levers which will open doors and extend platforms)
Press 'Z' to create a "Patch Of Life".
If you run out of hearts, or if you bump into spikes, you will die and briefly become a spirit. As a spirit, you may still interact with certain objects.
You must touch a patch of life before your spirit fades or the game will end.
