Tropical Dragon Slaughter is the upcoming spiritual sequel to Eruption. While Tropical Dragon Slaughter is still a mouse-avoider style game at its heart, it adds a bit of shmup flavor by allowing the player to shoot back at the obstacles rushing towards them. (You’d be mistaken if you were expecting that to make things easier…)
Tropical Dragon Slaughter contains four distinct levels to play through, with six medals to earn in each level. You can see a demo video from each of Tropical Dragon Slaughter’s levels below:
In addition to a distinct visual style, music, and set of obstacles, each level also includes a different type of “bonus”, which triggers at various points throughout the game.
Like Eruption, Tropical Dragon Slaughter has been developed using flixel, and it uses several sprites from the Tyrian and Hard Vacuum graphics made available by Daniel Cook at Lost Garden.
